Celebrating 22 years of the Faithfulness of God in Thailand - January 13, 2021

January 13, 1999 – Twenty two (22) years ago today, the Johnson family landed in Bangkok, Thailand after flying almost 30 hours from the other side of the world with 3 small children (Jessica 9, Liz 6, Joshua 1&1/2 and a fourth child (Caleb) that had been in the oven 7 months and who would be born in just two more months in a hospital in Bangkok.

Let me be the first to say that we have been blessed beyond measure as we have faithfully served our Lord Jesus these last 22 years in Thailand.

Great Is God’s Faithfulness.

We started out serving the Thai people through the International Mission Board and served faithfully with them for the first 7 years. Those were good years and we are grateful for the IMB's investment in our lives and all the things that we learned during those first 7 years.

But let me be very clear, these last 15 years of serving God in Thailand have been an incredibly, awesome, amazing journey of faith, perseverance, and seeing the faithfulness of God being poured out in our lives and in the work God has put our hands to do. It has been an incredible walk with God with a sense of great freedom and blessing to use the gifts and abilities God has given to us and to use them in a way that we sense is consistent with God's leadership in our lives and has led to seeing hundreds of people become the first person in their entire families to become followers of Jesus. God in building His church right in the heart of lostness and one of those places is called “Baan Athitaan Church.” This picture was taken just a little over 1 year ago before the pandemic hit us. Yes, over the last 22 years my hair has turned from brown to gray and now it is white but still grateful to God for having the hair that I do have even though it is beginning to thin more than I really like. Ha.

As we reflect over these past 22 years, we must say we are so grateful for the godly people who serve as board members of NTIM and who love and support us and help keep us on the right path of seeking God’s Kingdom and righteousness first in our lives. We must also say that we are so grateful for the many faithful supporters who give, who pray, and who come on mission trips, to join God in His work on the field. We must also say we are so grateful for the faithful Thai and international partners God has given us that work together for the glory of God. Join with us as we celebrate 22 years today of serving the King Of Kings and Lord of Lords. Here is our closing prayer. "Lord, we want to thank You for these last 22 years. You have blessed, led, provided, and given this ordinary family a chance to see a Faithful and Extraordinary God at work in and around Northern Thailand and allowed us the awesome privilege of joining You in Your work. Thank you for sending us, using us, and keeping us in Thailand for your glory and the advancement of your kingdom. Thank you for all of those you have sent along the way to support us and we pray you would bless them in a special way In Jesus name we pray."
