Painting With Love From Singapore

Some paint brushes and a few gallons of paint and a lot of love… that could describe the mission work that took place here a Grace Language School in December.

A mission team from Singapore came to serve with us for 10 days. During that time one of the main tasks that they headed up was the painting of the classrooms at Grace Language School.

Over the years the paint on the classroom walls had become, like any other well used area, worn. The team, along with the staff, took the challenge to paint these 8 classrooms in 2 days. This was not an easy task, but the team went at it with full force. They accomplished their goal with time to spare.

Now, this may not seem like a flashy or glamorous mission; however, that is exactly what made this task so amazing. This seemingly mundane action of painting a room is something that could easily be over looked. Yet, the way the team put everything they had into it reminded me that “whatever we do, do unto the Lord”.

So many times we as Christians overlook the small things that are so vitally important to the work of the Lord. Whether it’s painting a room or taking out the trash or whatever other small seemingly insignificant mission God has given you. Like Matthew 10:42 says “And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward."

We never know what the smallest action did in the name of Jesus will accomplish. We thank God that this team from Singapore had a heart to truly serve no matter what the task. I pray that God will continue to show us the wonder in the things that we so often overlook.
