Pray for Child & Family Prison Ministry - December 16, 2013 - Day 18

Today is Day 18 of our 35 Day Spiritual Adventure of getting to know and then actively praying for Northern Thailand Impact Ministry (NTIM) and all of the various unreached people groups in and around Northern Thailand. Yes, please forgive us for skipping a day (December 15) in our updates due to sickness. Thank you for joining us for this great time of seeking the face of God on behalf of millions who have never heard the message of our Lord Jesus.

DAY 18 – Pray for Child & Family Prison Ministry  - December 16, 2013

As I write this update I am reminded that the nature of the work that God has put in our hands as representative of NTIM has many facets. One of those facets of ministry has to do with partnering with other Christian organizations that are working here in Northern Thailand and functioning as their pastor and as part of their church family and helping assist them in doing what God has called them to do. As I shared in our last update – “DAY 17 – Going Into Thailand Villages With the Gospel - December 14, 2013”, this past Saturday night, we joined hands as a church family with Child and Family Prison Ministry Thailand (CFPM) to help them in their desire to help reach out to an Akha Village about 30 minutes from Baan Athitaan Church.

What a great joy it was to see all of the children at CFPM participate and lead out in this Christmas evangelism program.

Let me share a little about CFPM so that you will know better how to pray for them. CFPM was birthed out of a genuine desire to meet a great need to care for Thai children whose parents have been incarcerated and where young children are left with either no one to care for them or with relatives that are not able to care for them. Because most of them are from very poor backgrounds and villages, it puts these children at very high risk of falling into the hands of people who could exploit them.

God loves these children who are thrust into this vulnerable situation and God placed a little of His heart for these children into the hearts of the “Wunchergoo family” (namely Arlang, Jinda, and Amy) and into the heart of a man named Ryan Roe from Kansas City. Shortly afterward CFPM Thailand was established as a non-profit foundation registered with the government in Northern Thailand. Once CFPM Thailand was founded, Ryan led the charge of establishing a 501c non-profit foundation in the USA that handles the majority of funding and advocacy for the work that is done in Northern Thailand.

God has been using CFPM to be salt and light and currently cares for 12 Thai children whose parents are in prison. Their ministry is truly committed to discipleship and to helping these children grow up in a strong Christian environment where they don’t just talk about loving Jesus, they live it out. How do they live it our? They live it out by serving and ministering in their church and reaching out and serving others in their community who do not know Jesus.

Prayer Example: “Lord, we have been reminded today of some of the Christmas Evangelistic events that have been going on in Northern Thailand and of the ministry of Child and Family Prison Ministry. We thank You for raising up the ministry of CFPM and pray that You would continue to bless them in a very special way. We thank You for the Wunchergoo family and for the Roe family and for putting a little of Your heart for these children in their hearts. We pray that that You would continue to bless CFPM and help them to do all that You have planned for them to do so that these children may grow to be strong followers and servants of the most High God in the days to come. Thank You for raising up a church family in Baan Athitaan Church that You are using to help equip and minister to these precious children and to those who serve these children. We thank You for CFPM and pray these things in Jesus name. Amen.”
