God is Raising Up Thai Missionaries – Update April 03, 2015

One of the great joys that God has graciously allowed me to experience on a regular basis is the joy of seeing 1st generation believers grow in their relationship with God and become true fishers of men and mentors for others. Jesus said in Matthew 4:19, “Follow Me and I will make you fishers of men.”

As I write this update, I am sitting at home thinking about this morning and the reason for our short trip to Mae Sai this morning… at the beginning of Good Friday. This morning we got started a little earlier than normal and I met all of our church staff along with a church member named Oil at the church at about 8:00 so we could all be a part of sending out our first “Thai missionary” from our church.

We picked Pon up from his house this morning and drove another 40 minutes North to the border city of Mae Sai where we met one of Pon’s friends from Burma who he is going to work with over the next week. We walked together with him up to the border, gathered around he and his friends, and prayed for him one last time before watching them cross the border into Burma. May God bless, protect, and use this young man for God’s purposes.

Here is a video clip from this past Sunday of our commissioning service for Pon. Please take a moment and watch the video and please remember to pray for Pon as He is now in Myanmar serving the Lord.

God is doing some amazing things among these unreached people groups and we are so blessed to be a part of equipping them and helping them to serve God and reach out as His light to this part of God’s world.
