UPDATE on Caleb's OxBridge Studies Opportunity - June 22

On Sunday March 20, I wrote to all of our friends and partners in ministry about an opportunity that God had put before our son Caleb – who just finished 11th grade – to go and study at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland this Summer of 2016.

I shared with you that OxBridge Academic Programs brings high school students from all over the world to study during the summer at outstanding universities in Europe and in the USA, such as Oxford, Cambridge, University of St. Andrews, UCLA, and more.

Caleb applied for a scholarship to this program in hopes of studying Anatomy & Physiology and Marine Biology this summer and OxBridge graciously awarded him an Exceptional Merit Award which covers 50% of the cost of the whole program. I also shared with you that Caleb needed to raise an additional $5,000 for this. We are pleased to report to you that we serve and awesome God and that He has provided in some awesome ways. Some of his teachers at his school donated, some of his friends and their families donated, and some of our friends donated through NTIM and we were able to send a payment to them for the balance of the cost of these studies about 6 weeks ago.

It is now Wednesday June 22 here in Northern Thailand and just this morning we were able to talk to Caleb over Facebook and he has arrived in Scotland and has begun his orientation.

We wanted to first thank God for His goodness to us and to our children. Even though each of our children have had to do without certain things and opportunities that most American children have, God has given them opportunities and experiences that most American children only dream of having. We also want to say a very special thank you to all of our family and friends who also donated toward this opportunity for Caleb to study at this Oxbridge Academic program.

In talking to Caleb over Facebook, he indicated that there were about 62 different students in this program and that the majority seemed to be from the USA. But that many of them were pretty “wild.”

Please join us in praying for Caleb as he begins this new journey in Scotland. Pray that he would have many opportunities to share the love and light of Jesus with those who are also in this program who do not know Jesus as their personal Savior. Pray for him as he studies and learns from some awesome teachers and professors. Pray for him as he continues to grow in his love for God  and in his love for others.

Thank you so much for your partnership with us and for being a blessing to our children.

Your Servants to the Nations in and Around Northern Thailand,

Michael for the Team
